Parked near the highpoint on the minor single-track road linking Kilbeg on the A851 Sleat Peninsula, Isle of Skye, with Tarskavaig. There was space for a single vehicle without blocking the passing place.

Climbed east through heather and grasses and quickly reached the summit of the Tump, Beinn Loch Dhugaill, the highest point was the cairn. There were some excellent views of the Black and Red Cuillin and across the Sound of Sleat to the mainland.

Descended north-east then east across wet ground avoiding the bog pools. Lower down the vegetation was longer as headed to the south side of Loch nan Uamh and from there round more bog pools and some peat hags onto the Tump, Maol Buidhe. The summit was just some vegetation including bog cotton.

The route off was in a north-westerly direction through pools of bog and several peat hags above Loch nan Uamh, crossing an old rusty fence topped with barbed wire.

Went round the north side of Loch nam Breac Dubha then more bog pools and numerous peat hags onto Beinn Loch a’ Tuim. The summit of this Tump was just some vegetation.

Briefly returned SSE before descending south-west with more of the same underfoot conditions. It did improve later although some rough going around the crossing of the Allt Loch nan Uamh which was fairly full after the recent rain but crossable without getting wet feet. Went over a new stock fence, also topped with barbed wire, then a gradual climb through rough vegetation on the north-west face of Beinn Loch Dhugaill to return to the start.
