The start for the ascent of the Tump, Green Hill, was Tillyfourie, on the A944 Aberdeen to Alford Road. I parked to the west of the B993 Kemnay junction and at the beginning of the forest track where there was space for a few cars.
I walked south along this track as it wound its way through Corrennie Forest passing the vehicle track leading to Crawfordswell.

At a quarry the track split and here I went left and followed this vehicle track below the west side of Green Hill. I later left this track and walked through the long heather to what appeared to be the summit of Green Hill before reversing the route on my return to the start.
