Accompanied by some friends we headed for Glen Brittle on the Isle of Skye, accessed from the B8009 south-east of Carbost, to climb Sgurr na Banachdich. We set off from opposite the Youth Hostel and followed the path up the side of the Allt a’ Choire Ghreadaidh to just before the Allt Coir an Eich. Here another path headed south up the side of this stream before turning east where there were various paths to choose from.
Once across the stream there were still options on which path to take through the stones and rock as we entered the cloud. Eventually we reached the cairn marking the ridge between Sgurr na Banachdich and Sgurr Thormaid. Here we climbed south on stony paths through some rock bands to reach the cairn marking the summit of the Munro, Sgurr na Banachdich.
The descent was by the upward route initially slightly to the south and missing out the cairn marking the ridge between Sgurr na Banachdich and Sgurr Thormaid.
