Perthshire

The first Tump, Murie Hill, west of Errol, took very little effort. I parked beside the radio mast north-east of Murie Cemetery passed through a stock gate and into a field containing sheep where I wandered around what appeared to be the summit.

The next hill, Pans Hill, was accessed from Glen Carse east of Perth and north of the A90. I left my car in an area of rough ground went through a stock gate then south up an embankment containing a few trees. This led to the crossing of a stubble field and an area of rough grazing to reach a couple of radio masts. Beyond, at a gap in a wall, I crossed a barbed wire fence and entered a wood where I visited the highest point of this Tump.

I then drove further west and parked at the side of the minor road to the north of the Tump, Taymount. I crossed a barbed wire fence then climbed an embankment of grass and gorse to reach its flat summit.

Closer to Perth was the Tump, Binn Hill. I left my car at the side of the minor road to the north then walked along a vehicle track into a wood and to the tower. It did not appear to be the highest point so I visited what I thought was the summit.

Slightly closer to Perth was Deuchny Hill. I left my vehicle in the car park to the west and headed up a path to near the summit area. A rough path then took me through broom, gorse and grass to the highest point of this Tump.

The final Tump of the day was within the City of Perth. I parked in Corsehill Road and walked up paths to Kinnoull Hill’s summit area where there were various structures including a trig point.
