I stopped off in Perth to climb a couple of hills. The first one was located within the city so after parking on a side street I crossed Viewlands Road West and walked towards the east side of a reservoir. From there I crossed a barbed wire fence, climbed through trees, bushes and rough vegetation to reach the summit of the Tump, Burghmuir, the ground here being well above the top of the reservoir.
The next hill was to the south of the city and the M90. I parked beside a gate just off the minor road to the south-west of Mailer Hill and followed a track along the edge of a field and across a gully containing trees and wild vegetation. I then walked along field edges to an access track which led to a communications tower where I entered a field of cattle feeding from troughs. It was then a short walk to the trig point marking the summit of this Hump.
