Carn Thollaidh and Cnoc a’ Chiarsair – I was staying with friends in Plockton so it was only a short drive south on minor roads to the north-west corner of Loch Achaidh na h-Inich where there was parking for a few cars.
We then walked along the path on the west shore of this loch and through some trees to the paths highpoint between Carn Thollaidh and Cnoc a’ Chiarsair and opted to climb Carn Thollaidh first. A faint path later disappearing amongst the vegetation led to a stock fence and once over it it was a short climb to the summit of this Tump marked by an outcrop.
We returned to and crossed the path which led to Balmacara then another faint path again disappearing amongst the rough vegetation led to the obvious summit of the Tump, Cnoc a’ Chiarsair.
The return route was back to the Balmacara path and Loch Achaidh na h-Inich.
Carn Palascaig – We parked at the side of the minor road to the south-east of this Tump then walked north along the road before leaving it and initially crossing tussocky and wet ground, then it was through rough vegetation including heather to reach an outcrop which marked the summit of Carn Palascaig.
We then retraced the outward route back to the car.
