I left my vehicle in the car park on the west side of the B8083 Broadford to Elgol Road, on the west side of Loch Slapin south of the Allt na Dunaiche. The parking area was rather small for the number of folks that climb the Munro, Bla Bheinn, and this was highlighted by the cars left at the roadside on my return.
Initially I returned to the single track road and crossed the road bridge over the Allt na Dunaiche. A fairly good path then headed up the north side of this stream later passing through a gate in the deer fence and some waterfalls before crossing the burn.
The gradient then increased significantly and the path was rather rough and eroded despite attempts to improve it.
The path took me through Coire Uaigneich and opposite Loch Fionna-choire I left the corrie and climbed north-west through scree and rock which made for slow progress.
Eventually I reached Bla Bheinn’s summit cairn and trig point. Here I met a couple of chaps from Manchester and we were later joined by others who came across from the South Top.
After a while at the summit I returned to Coire Uaigneich. On my descent one of two females who had arrived at the summit from the South Top was searching for her dog which had disappeared as they left the Munro. At Coire Uaigneich I worked my way round to Loch Fionna-choire and climbed the Hump, An Stac.
I took a break here and saw through my binoculars that the female had found her dog. I later headed back to Coire Uaigneich then returned to the start by the approach route.
