Insch

Carrier’s Hill – From the B992 Insch to Auchleven Road, immediately south of Insch, at the south-west corner of the forest where I left my car, walked up the vehicle track to the mast and summit of this Tump. The return was by the ascent route.

Hill of Christ’s Kirk and Hill of Finder: Parked on the verge of the B9002 Insch to Kennethmont Road west of Insch and beside the locked gates east of the forest at Hill of Christ’s Kirk. I then walked along various fire breaks to reach the open ground and the summit of the Hump, Hill of Christ’s Kirk.

I then descended west following a track and climbed to the summit of the Tump, Hill of Finder before returning to Hill of Christ’s Kirk. Fire breaks then led back to the start.

Hill of Dunnideer: I left my car in the parking area just off the minor road to the west of Insch and east of Hill of Dunnideer and walked up the path, icy in places, to the summit of this Tump and to its old fort. The return was by the ascent route.

Hill of Corskie: Left my car in the parking area on the east side of Gartly Moor Forest, north-west of Insch, and walked along various forest tracks to the summit of this Tump where there was a communications tower. Wandered around this area but the highest point wasn’t obvious. The return was by upward route.
