Glen Avon

I left my vehicle in the parking area on the east side of the River Avon near Delnabo, south of Tomintoul, and walked south on the undulating vehicle track in Glen Avon. The track later joined the tarred road which crossed from the west side of the River Avon to the east at Delavorar.

The tarred road was followed to Birchfield where I located the vehicle track that would take me up the south side of the Allt na Kyle. Higher up at a fork in the track I took a left walking south then east to below Monadh Fergie. I left the track and walked across heather to reach the wet and mossy summit area where the highest point of this Tump appeared to be an area of vegetation above a peat hag.

The descent west took me across some rough vegetation to re-join the vehicle track beside the Allt nan Kyle east of where I had left it earlier. The outward route was then followed back to the parking area.
