Ettrick Pen: We left my car at the end of the single track unclassified road north-east of Potburn, accessed from the B709 at Ettrick, and walked along the vehicle track, passed the property at Potburn which was under renovation, to the bothy at Over Phawhope. From there we followed the vehicle track above the north then east sides of the Entertrona Burn until the track came to an end.
Initially there were traces of a path then it was through rough vegetation to just north of the summit of this Graham where a path led along the edge of a stock fence to the summit cairn which was located at the junction of fences. The return was by the upward route.
Cossars Hill and Standtrae Knowe: I drove back along the single track road, dropping off my walking partner to climb Andrewhinney Hill, and parked at the edge of a passing place north-east of Brockhoperig. I crossed a stock fence and some boggy ground and commenced the ascent of Cossars Hill. Although the vegetation was rather wild progress was made easier by sheep and ATV tracks. From the summit of this Tump I descended to the col with Standtrae Knowe then followed ATV tracks to the high point of this Tump. It was then back to the col with Cossars Hill where I worked my way round its west side before returning to the start.
