Dinnet

Cnoc Dubh: I left my vehicle in the car park at Muir of Dinnet Nature Reserve, west of Dinnet, accessed from the B9119 and walked west through the trees and along a path above the Vat Burn. Eventually this led to the vehicle track for Cambus o’ May. I briefly walked along this track then left it to follow a path that wound its way up Cnoc Dubh on an easy gradient. Just before the summit of this Tump another path led to the large embedded rock marking its highest point.

I returned to just below the summit and descended the path south then later east before leaving it and following a fire break. Some wild vegetation was crossed to reach the B9119 just south of the car park.

Culblean Hill: I parked at the side of the unclassified Raebush Road, north-west of Dinnet, at NJ432019, and walked west along various tracks until they ran out to be replaced by long heather and boulders. I climbed towards the trig point on Culblean Hill where the walking became easier. After reaching the trig I made the short descent west before climbing over the summit of Culblean Hill East Top, and onto the Tump, Culblean Hill.

From there I descended north-east through a mixture of vegetation crossing a couple of estate tracks before accessing one to reach the summit of Roar Hill, the highest point either being on the track or to its east.  I returned down the vehicle track then crossed more rough vegetation to reach another track below Culblean Hill where work was under way to improve it. I followed this track east, latterly through some trees, to reach the unclassified road at NJ431023. It was then a short walk back to my car.
