Cuilt Hill and Black Binks – Left my vehicle in the car park on the east side of the Backwater Reservoir near its north end, accessed from the B951 Kirriemuir to Kirkton of Glenisla Road, and walked north along the tarred road to Glenhead Farm and the signposted route for Glen Prosen. I initially headed east along this vehicle track but once beyond a stock gate I left the track and commenced the ascent of Cuilt Hill. It was a steady climb on grass to reach the flat summit although the highest point of this Tump couldn’t be determined.

The descent north then north-west along the edge of a stock fence crossed some tussocky ground and bog. On reaching the col with Black Binks I climbed north through some rushes, rough grazing and heather, disturbing a large herd of hinds. The summit of the Tump, Black Binks, was reached, the highest point apparently being on the north side of the stock fence but it wasn’t obvious.

After a break here I descended south-east along the edge of the Kylebank Plantation then crossed the Hole Burn to reach the ruin at Hole where I joined the track for Glen Prosen. I then followed this vehicle track back to Glenhead Farm and the car park.

Creagan Caise Hill – I drove north up Glen Isla, accessed from the B951 Kirriemuir Road at Brewlands Bridge, to the parking area just beyond the end of the public road at Auchaven. I managed to find a spot to leave my vehicle amongst several cars parked there. I then walked back to Auchaven and followed the vehicle track through the property then west and north-west on a steady gradient with a few steeper sections and the crossing of the Glack Burn.

The track led to just above the col between Monamenach and Creagan Caise Hill and here split.

I descended to the col then followed the track onto the heathery north ridge of Creagan Caise Hill although the track was a bit wet and boggy at times. The summit cairns of the Corbett Top, Creagan Caise Hill, were reached, the north one obviously lower.
