I left my car on Charlestown Road, Aboyne, and walked across the Bridge of Dee to Birsemore. Here there was a sign-posted route to the Fungle Road which was followed south to just beyond The Guard. Here I headed east on a path, crossed a burn, then worked my way through the trees to the summit of the Tump, Birsemore Hill.
I returned to the property The Guard and walked west along a forest vehicle track. I later left this track and followed a cairned route through the felled forest towards the summit of Craigendinnie where the trees were still standing. A mast was reached but it wasn’t the highest point of this Tump so I visited several potential points before returning to The Guard by the approach route then the Fungle Road to Aboyne.
