Hill of Tertowie: Parked on the minor Westhill to Kinellar Road, south-west of Blackburn, and crossed a field to reach the summit of this Tump. The return was by upward route.
Hill of Kinellar: From the minor Kinellar to Cairntradlin Road north-west of Blackburn, path through the trees and to summit of this Tump. I returned by the approach route.
Logie Hill: Parked at the side of the B977 Dyce to Hatton of Fintray Road, west of Cothall and north-west of Dyce, crossed a field and barbed wire fences to reach a vehicle track. This led towards the summit of Logie Hill where I wandered around taking in a few points of this Tump. The return was by the ascent route.
Change Hill: From the minor road north of Newmachar and beside Changehill, muddy tracks through a field of Xmas trees then to the summit and trig point of this Tump. It was then back to the start by the upward route.
Hill of Pitcow: Parked just off the A947 Newmachar to Oldmeldrum Road on the minor road to Auchinhuive, and walked briefly south on the A947. I then entered and crossed a stubble field to reach a large metal container, which held water and appeared to mark the summit of this Tump. I wandered around before returning to start by approach route.
Hill of Bourtie: Parked on the minor road east of Kirkton of Bourtie and south of Oldmeldrum, and crossed a dyke. I then wandered through some trees following tracks and to the summit of this Tump which appeared to be within a grassy field. The return was by the ascent route.
Hill of Selbie: This Tump was located to the north-east of Inverurie and was climbed from the minor road to the east of Old Bourtie. I entered and crossed a field then a barbed wire fence to cross into a second field where cattle were grazing. A third field was reached and this was where I located the summit of Hill of Selbie. The return route was initially slightly to the east to avoid the cattle.
Hill of Lethenty: From the minor road north of Inverurie and the access road to Hillhead of Lethenty I walked along muddy vehicle tracks through a field where Xmas trees were grown. A high fence and long vegetation was reached and once across these obstacles I came to a building and large yard protected by fencing. I walked round to the north-west side of this yard to what appeared to be the highest point of the Tump, located just out with the fence. The return was by the approach route.
Craigforthie: This Tump, located east of Port Elphinstone, Inverurie, was approached from the minor road north-west of Cairnhill. I crossed a stile and a field to reach a small building which was apparently the summit of Craigforthie. I walked round this building before returning to the start.
Bruce’s Camp: I parked beside the trig point on the minor road west of Thainstone Mart located south of Inverurie. I headed briefly east along this road then entered and walked through a wood before crossing a fence and following the edge of a field. At an old gate I entered an area of bracken and trees the bracken making it tough going. A more open area of rough vegetation and an old fence was reached and here I walked around to satisfy myself I was at the summit of this Tump as it wasn’t obvious. I returned by the upward route but instead of re-entering the final section of woodland I crossed a grassy field to reach my car.
